Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater is an affordable mist that is meant to boost hydration and revitalize dehydrated skin. Mario Badescu offers its facial sprays in four varieties, which all have aloe as a key ingredient. Other versions include cucumber & green tea, chamomile & lavender, and sage & orange blossom.
The rosewater version that I am reviewing today is their “cult-favorite” original version. I purchased this product a while back because I previously had a good experience using a rosewater facial mist.
My Overall Experience
5/10. This facial mist is just “okay” for me. How much you enjoy this product really depends on how you plan on incorporating it into your skincare routine!
My relatively low personal rating reflects that it does very little to deliver on what it advertises to do – boost hydration and revitalize dehydrated skin. Despite aloe being listed as a key ingredient, the product isn’t potent enough to soothe the skin either.
If you are simply looking for a facial mist to dampen the skin before you use other skincare products, this product certainly does the job at an affordable price. I’ve personally emptied two bottles of this Mario Badescu facial spray for this sole purpose! While you could also achieve a similar effect by spritzing plain water over your face prior to moisturizing, my personal preference is to reach for a facial spray.
If you are looking for a facial mist to give you a bit of a hydration boost or to help set makeup, there are other facial sprays in the market that will do a better job.
Key Ingredients
The top few ingredients in the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater include:
- Propylene Glycol – a common humectant that helps to increase moisture retention.
- Aloe Vera Leaf Juice – helps to soothe the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties.
- Rosa Canina Extract (Rosewater) – helps with hydration and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Texture and Scent
The consistency of the facial mist is like water. My skin is not sensitive to fragrance but those who are should note that the product has added fragrance. The product has a floral scent to it.
Note that the picture in this post was taken after I had finished using the entire bottle of facial spray. The product actually has a light pink hue, which is helped by added coloring.
How I Use It
I used the Mario Badescu Facial Spray mainly to help dampen the skin before applying other skincare products. Spray until your skin is evenly misted!
Packaging
The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater comes in a lightweight plastic bottle with a standard spray pump. The pump does not spray the product into a super fine mist. Therefore, if you are using it on top of makeup, be wary that you might get a large droplet here and there!
