Nacific’s Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence is a serum designed to hydrate and brighten the skin. Nacific is a Korean skincare brand with a focus on nature-inspired, simple and effective products.
I came across this product after discovering Nacific’s Fresh Herb Origin Serum. I was looking for a serum to help improve hyperpigmentation and dullness in the skin. The Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence fit the bill with solid customer reviews and a reasonable price point.
My Overall Experience
7/10. I did not find the Nacific Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence particularly effective at improving hyperpigmentation or skin dullness. However, it does offer a surprising boost of hydration that all skin types will enjoy.
This is one of the most hydrating watery-type serums that I have used. It significantly improved hydration in my skin during the drier winter months. Those who need extra hydration but don’t like the feeling of facial oils will especially enjoy using this product. Keeping your skin hydrated is a good first step to improving any of your other skin concerns!
Key Ingredients
The Nacific Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence lists bamboo water, niacinamide, and vitamin C derivatives as its key ingredients:
- Bamboo Water – improves hydration and helps with dullness. Used as a replacement for water in the formulation of this product.
- 5% Niacinamide – helps to fade hyperpigmentation and even the skin tone. In addition, niacinamide has anti-inflammatory properties, helps to strengthen the skin barrier, regulate skin cell turnover and oil production.
- Vitamin C Derivatives – helps to brighten the skin.
Texture and Scent
The Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence has a consistency that slightly more viscous than water. It spreads easily and leaves a slightly tacky feeling to the skin when absorbed. Any tackiness is removed after following up with a moisturizer.
There is no added fragrance and the scent of the product is indiscernible. See it in action in the short video below!
How I Use It
I use the Nacific Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence in the AM and PM after my toner and essence. While the product is listed as an “essence”, its more viscous consistency is similar to your typical serum.
The product is sufficiently hydrating to replace a toner and essence for most skin types. Adjust your skincare routine as you see fit.
Packaging
The product comes in a sturdy, clear plastic bottle with a dropper dispenser.
