Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist Review

Dr Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist

The Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist is designed to instantly soothe and relieve sensitive and irritated skin. Dr. Jart+’s Cicapair collection needs little introduction – the brand’s most popular collection focuses on soothing products and uses Tiger Grass as the star ingredient (otherwise known as “cica” or Centella Asiatica extract).

I am a fan of products with Centella Asiatica so I purchased this face mist for purposes of hydrating my face first thing out of the shower and to soothe my skin mid-day!

My Overall Experience

7/10. This is a solid face mist for sensitive and/or acne-prone skin types. It does a good job at relieving my skin from tightness mid-day. While I find it to moderately help soothe my skin whenever it is irritated, the effect is not particularly impressive relative to soothing serums or moisturizers.

The spray nozzle is presses smoothly and delivers a fine, even mist although there are other face mists I’ve tried that deliver finer mists (I’d say the Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Essence Mist is even finer). I like that the mist is travel-size friendly at only 50ml in size but unfortunately it also means you get less product for what you pay for!

Where To Buy

The Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist retails at US$23 (C$30) for 50ml. The product can be purchased at various retail outlets including:

Key Ingredients

Dr. Jart+’s Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist highlights the following key ingredients:

  • Centella Asiatica Extract – anti-inflammatory, soothing and healing properties. Also commonly known as “cica” or “tiger grass”. One of my favorite skincare ingredients!
  • Panthenol – also known as pro-vitamin B5, this ingredient helps to repair the skin’s moisture barrier to better retain hydration.
  • Niacinamide an all-around star ingredient. It has anti-inflammatory properties, helps to fade hyperpigmentation, strengthen the skin barrier, regulate skin cell turnover and oil production, and even the skin tone.

Texture and Scent

The Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist has a watery toner texture and a herbal scent to it. Watch my short video below for a quick demo – turn your sound on for some bonus skincare ASMR!

How I Use It

I use the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist mid-day to relieve my skin from dryness or irritation and also straight out of the shower to help trap in any hydration left on my skin. I noticed that if does sting my eyes a bit if it drips down into that area, so take note!

Packaging

The face mist is packaged in a sturdy plastic bottle with a cap that clicks nicely in place. The spray nozzle is standard in size but the spray button itself is wide and presses smoothly. I would have loved to reuse the spray bottle but unfortunately upon further inspection, I can’t seem to take it apart!
