Stratia Rewind Serum Review

Stra

Stratia’s Rewind is a hydrating serum formulated to help with visible signs of aging. If you haven’t heard of Stratia before, they are a Los Angeles-based indie skincare brand known for their research-driven formulations.

I wanted to give the Rewind serum a try, along with a few other of their products, after becoming a fan of their Liquid Gold moisturizer. I actually purchased the Rewind over a year ago during Stratia’s annual sale and forgot about it until now! Since then, Stratia has updated their packaging of their products so this is an older look of their packaging.

My Overall Experience

8.5/10. The Rewind is an affordable, solid serum suitable for any skin type! I found it hydrating and it did appear to help smooth my skin texture moderately.

Admittedly, I wasn’t a huge fan of the product at at first because of the scent and the packaging but it grew on me more after using it more consistently. Now that I have finished the entire bottle, I realize that I enjoyed it more and more as I gave it more time. Stratia products have yet to disappoint!

Where To Buy

The Rewind retails at US$18 for 30ml and can be purchased online directly from StratiaReceive $10 off your first purchase from Stratia with my referral link^. Stratia ships internationally!

Key Ingredients

Stratia does an amazing job at explaining the ingredients that go into each and every one of their products so I won’t repeat too much here:

  • 2.5% DMAE – I’ve personally never heard of this ingredient before and have not seen many skincare products that use this as an ingredient. Stratia describes DMAE as a skin-firming ingredient that helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • 5% Niacinamide – found in many skincare products for good reason! It is anti-inflammatory, helps to fade hyperpigmentation, strengthen the skin barrier, regulate skin cell turnover and oil production, and even the skin tone.
  • Hyaluronic Acid – common humectant which helps to hold in that moisture!

Texture and Scent

Easily spreadable consistency with a slightly slippery feeling. The product absorbs in a reasonable amount of time to a slightly tacky finish to touch at first. Any initial tackiness disappears after the product is fully absorbed into the skin. See it in action in the short video below!

The Rewind doesn’t have any added fragrance but the actual scent of the product itself is bit difficult to describe. I have to admit the scent was initially a bit off putting as there is a moderate funky scent from the concoction of ingredients. Over time I got used to it and it didn’t bother me at all.

How I Use It

The instructions recommend you to use 1-2 pumps morning and night. I use it after any toner/essence and before my moisturizer. I typically end up using 3 pumps because 2 doesn’t seem to do it for me (and the pump design didn’t really allow me to dispense anything less than a full pump).

Packaging

I didn’t really like the design of the pump bottle. The pump shoots the product out sharply so you really have to “catch” the product in your hands and can’t really control the amount dispensed. As a result, I found the packaging a bit more troublesome despite my typical fondness for products in pump bottles because of its hygiene and ease of use.
